Title:
Sewing Survival SkillsIn case you can't find the workshop supplies during your Pandemic shopping, all of the demonstrations will be recorded, and attendees will receive a link to be able to watch them later on Youtube.
Join me, Alison Toni, from Stitch Lounge, Stgo. to learn some sewing survival skills! I’ve been teaching people to sew since 2012, and have led sewing survival skills sessions twice before for Senior Finish.
We are going to tackle sewing on buttons, fixing a ripped seam, hemming your jeans invisibly, and for those bigger problems, some visible mending.I love teaching these basic skills, so that you can head off to Uni, or independent life knowing how to take care of your clothes, helping them to last longer, and saving you money.
Materials Needed:
To take part, you will need a few buttons, a scrap or two of fabric, a pair of old jeans if you have them, a hand-sewing needle and thread (maybe you have a sewing kit from a hotel). Some embroidery thread, or some yarn, and a needle with a big eye, like a tapestry or yarn needle. You can get kits with yarn and a needle in librerías, or in the school supplies section of the supermarkets, and most supermarkets sell some sewing supplies like the mini kits with needle and thread. We won't be using a sewing machine, we can do all of this by hand!
